The story of tea began in China where the servant of Chinese emperor was boiling water, when some leaves from the tree blew into the water. That's how we got the second most consumed beverage in the world after water.

Tea is popular among people of every age, from 5 year old to a 65 year senior citizen. There are different varieties of tea like Black tea, Dark tea, Green tea, Milk tea, White tea etc having unique taste, aroma, and characteristics. Green tea is gaining popularity nowadays. I too drink green tea now in order to stay fit and healthy. Some people like tea bags, others like strong tea. Many like their tea with milk and sugar.

In our country tea is made at both home and outside. Tea stalls are available at every nook and corner of our country and they have become a part of the urban landscape. Tea is so much popular in India that tea and water, is used to offer welcome drinks and facilitate guests in houses of India. Thus I think that the time has come to declare Tea as the national drink of india. Asaam has declared Tea as the state drink.
