Hi friends,
Recently I had been to Bhivpuri waterfalls and I'm here to share my experience which would be useful for you if you are looking for an adventure nearby Mumbai, Navi Mumbai and Thane.
As you can see in the above picture, waterfalls is not in full fledge as I visited in the month of October and the monsoon is over. It is highly recommended to visit between July- mid September that's when you find waterfall in full fledge. The height of the waterfall is 20 feet
It is one of the best waterfalls to explore in Maharashtra and offers an ideal option for Mumbaiker's short weekend gateway!
Location: Ashane Village Bhivpuri road, 7 km from Karjat city, Maharashtra (India)
Distance from Mumbai: 93 Kms
Distance from Thane: 67 Kms
How to reach: If you are coming from train board a karjat bound train get down at bhivpuri station which is after Neral and Before Karjat. Once you reach there get an auto for Ashane Village which charges 20 rupees per person. One can also trek to waterfalls as it would not consume more than 20 minutes.
It can also be reached by car via Shilphata-Karjat highway as well as from Karjat highway.If you are coming from Thane side then you can follow a route of Thane -Bhiwandi Kalyan Junction –Kalyan –Badlapur –Vangni –Shelu– Take the right turn just ahead of Umroli village –Ashane.
Short trek: You need to walk till the base of the mountain in order to reach up to the waterfalls.Once you reach to the top you have to trek for 20 minutes to reach splashing waterfalls.It involves crossing of 2 water streams and climbing on the hillock.
As path remains slippery you have to be careful while ascending and descending. It is advised to wear a proper trekking shoes.

Rappelling has become a popular adventure activity here. It involves descending from the top end of the waterfall to base with the help of rope & other safety equipments. It gives an adventurous experience.
Nearby scenery
Waterfalls is surrounded by lush Greenery. You can see spectacular panoramic views of the mountains and lake nearby waterfall. Here are some of the shots that I took on my journey.
Tips from the Author: Get water bottles, snacks and liquor if you consume as no shops are available in the vicinity and please maintain cleanliness as I saw garbage spread around waterfall.
